About

Y-WORK is a European initiative designed to empower young people, particularly those at risk of social exclusion, by preparing them to become the next generation of youth workers. The project recognizes the growing need for skilled, motivated youth workers who can engage, support, and inspire young people within their local communities.

Through a strong focus on non-formal education, Y-WORK aims to equip participants with essential soft skills and key competences such as communication, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and digital literacy. These skills are not only vital for youth work, but also for broader employability and personal development.

The project promotes active citizenship and encourages young people to take initiative, engage in their communities, and explore paths such as social entrepreneurship. In doing so, Y-WORK contributes to building more inclusive and resilient societies, especially in rural or underserved areas where opportunities are limited.

By combining local and international activities, the project fosters innovation and collaboration across different cultures and contexts. Participants will gain practical experience, exchange best practices, and be part of a European network that supports lifelong learning and active participation in civic life.

Ultimately, Y-WORK seeks to strengthen the capacity of youth work across Europe and ensure that young people – especially those with fewer opportunities – are not only supported, but also empowered to become leaders and changemakers in their communities.
