We spent the day exploring the beautiful city of Prague. As a group, we walked among its stunning buildings, visited the Astronomical Tower, and crossed the city’s famous historic bridge. After some free time, we attended a presentation by Jolana Dočkalová from the Association of Non-Formal Education (ANEV) about trends within Generation Alpha. Her talk highlighted key factors shaping children’s lives today, such as free time, relationships, education, parenting patterns, and the growing influence of technology.

On Sunday we worked in teams to think about what kinds of courses or workshops we could offer for young people and what they might be interested in. Then we presented our ideas to the others and created a task as an example of non-formal education. This led us to the next topic: the differences between non-formal, formal, and informal learning, and what competences youth workers or leaders should have.

In the afternoon, we had a very creative program where we could make lots of DIY items, such as sewing, crocheting, and making bracelets. #yworkcompetencies#erasmusplus

On Saturday, we held our first “working day” at the training session for our Y-work competences project, where enthusiastic young people from four organizations in three countries are working together on a large-scale project. During the day, we presented our own competencies, then saw each other’s skills in playful, interactive exercises. It was interesting to experience the diversity of knowledge and energy in this small team and to see the direction we are heading in together.
